ThaiFest@Marysville -  On the evening of Friday 19 March and on Saturday 20 March 2010 we took the Festival to Marysville Victoria - ravaged by the Black Saturday Bushfires, Marysville and the Triangle District is now rebuilding.  
This event preceded the 7th Annual Thai Culture and Food Festival at Federation Square on 21 March 2010 which was also bigger and better than ever!!
In addition to the fabulous choice of mouth watering Thai food; ThaiFest@Marysville  featured:
  • Live performances by the amazing Thai International Dance Group Sbun-Nga direct from Thailand
  • The jazz compositions of His Majesty The King of Thailand played by the Melbourne Jazz Ensemble
  • The  SINGHA Beer Garden - right near the stage with seating for relaxed dining end enjoyment of Singha Beer from Thailand and wines from local wineries
  • Interactive Thai Cooking demonstrations
  • Local Marysville and District foods and products including wines

     The Thai Culture and Food Festival is a partner event of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.

     The Festival  is also part of Victoria's Cultural Diversity Week.

     The Festival was also  at Federation Square on Sunday 21 March 2010 plus Sunshine Friends Concert Active Imagefor Marysville - Federation Square Main Stage - evening of Sunday 21 March 2010 - The Sunshine Friends Concert has evolved due to a song written by Billy Thorpe and Tony Barber (founding members of the legendary Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs) some 30 years ago and until Australia Day 2010 had never been released. The concert showcased live performances from some of Australia's best rock legends -Normie Rowe, Doug Parkinson, Kevin Borich, Issi Dye with support from the all girl group 'Tiara" from Sydney. They were joined by Tony Barber, representatives of Marysville and the organising committee for the first live performance of the Sunshine Friends Anthem. All net proceeds to Marysville to help rebuilding.
