We chose Federation
Square as the venue for the festival because:

has high visibility

All the facilities are in place

Federation Square is now the recognised
event focus for Melbourne

River Yarra is close by

Grass areas and seating by River provide a
wonderful setting

The proximity to Birrarung Mar allows the
crowd to dissipate easily

Sundays are a natural visiting day to the
CBD by families, students etc
and Fed Square is the place to go!

ease of access
There is probably no more easily reached
destination in Melbourne than Federation Square.
It is situated at the hub of Melbourne's
transportation network in the very centre of Melbourne.
The Fed Sq Car Park is accessed from
Russell Street or Batman Ave (Exhibition Street extension -
City Link)
The current car park rates are:
- Early Bird $10 (In before 9am, out
after 4.00pm)
- First hour: $4.00, Half Hourly rate: $2
(each additional half hour or part thereof)
- Maximum Daily rate: $16 (Maximum daily
rate applies if ticket is lost)
- Flat Night (entry after 4pm) and
Weekend rate: $7
There are many other ways to get to Fed
Square:
Train: Flinders Street Station
Tram: Swanston and Flinders Street routes including the
free City Circle Tram
Bicycle: Yarra River Trail
Bus: Swanston and Flinders Street routes
Ferry: Yarra River water taxis
